Organization to help orphans receives major boost from Dallas event
(Dallas) – 100X Missions is making plans to change lives today. Dallas-based Barefoot Executive, Carrie Wilkerson and her team of small business partners gathered for BOSS Event 2010 at the Crowne Plaza in Addison this past weekend. Their goal was to learn, brainstorm, and network with like-minded business people from around the world. By the time it was over, they shared much more than business ideas.
An auction was held to raise money for 100X Missions, a non-profit organization that cares for orphans around the world. Carrie told the crowd that her goal was to raise $10,000. 30-minutes later, more than $60,000 was raised, 100% of which will go to 100X Missions. It will help 120 orphans with medical supplies, education, food, and shelter for an entire year. “The electricity in the room was unmistakable,” said Jim Palmer, who attended the event. “Everyone could feel it. I have never seen so many people so happy to give.”
For Wilkerson, a business owner, mentor, coach, and advisor, this is only the beginning. She plans to release a book early next year with a portion of the proceeds also going to 100X Missions.
BOSS Event 2010 was jam-packed with dynamic speakers, breakout sessions, interactive exercises, workshops, food, fun and all with one purpose: To help people map out their next steps toward a better life both at home and at work. BOSS Event 2011 is already being planned.
